Imagine the excitement—and perhaps some apprehension—felt by 45 young girls as they begin their studies at secondary school. For many in Longido District, this marks the fulfillment of a cherished dream.
“Without TEMBO, I would be at home with no time to study, just waiting and waiting. You don’t know what is going on and your dreams just fade away.”
This fall, 118 students benefited from two dynamic programs this fall that offered them a chance to learn and grow in a positive learning environment.
Summer is here and for many that means ‘school’s out’ and ‘time to relax’. But when it comes time for a break from school in Tanzania, the TEMBO-sponsored girls just ask for more! The girls are thirsty for an education; they want to succeed; they want to help their families. And so – when their schools close – they rush to TEMBO to attend TEC (TEMBO English Camp).
On any given Friday afternoon, Amina is busy making alterations to some of the clothes she will be selling at the Saturday market in Longido. It is important to Amina that she has just the right product for her customers, and it is working! Today, she has a thriving business thanks to the micro-finance loan she received from TEMBO.
