A Special Year for TEMBO

We are celebrating our 20th anniversary as a registered Canadian charitable organization and we want to share it with you!

Over the past two decades, our programs have expanded from secondary school sponsorship and microfinance to include academic support programs, a Girls’ Hostel, the Longido District Learning Centre, a tailoring program for women as well as literacy outreach programs in remote, rural villages.

Our vision of providing fair and equitable access to education and economic opportunities in Tanzania is becoming a reality for many women and girls in Longido District.

We hope that you will join us for some of our events this year where we will be celebrating this special occasion and recognizing the impact of your support for Project TEMBO.

Kicking off the 20th Anniversary in Tanzania

In January, members of the Board of Directors for TEMBO will be in Tanzania to kick off our 20th anniversary.

“I am so excited to visit Longido after 10 years.  I know so much has changed. It will be great to see the Learning Centre and the TEMBO Girls’ Hostel while visiting with staff.” – Melissa Clark, President of TEMBO

We have come so far thanks to the support of our donors who share our vision of a world where the girls and women of Longido District, Tanzania have equal access to education and economic opportunities.
