Supporting Women

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread across Africa, TEMBO is still working to support the women and girls in Longido District. From March – early July 2020, the Longido District Learning Centre was closed. This posed great hardship on the women in the tailoring program as they could no longer sew to generate an income and buy food to feed their families.

Thanks to the support of TEMBO donors, TEMBO was able to provide emergency food packages for the women with the most recent delivery of food taking place in July 2020.

The Tailoring Program is now open and the women are happy to be back at their sewing tables.
