About Genevieve Lajoie & Gabriel Brideau

Genevieve is the first female mayor for the Municipality of Casselman. She is passionate about community engagement and making the Municipality of Casselman rich in services and one of the best places to live and grow within the wider United Counties of Prescott and Russell.

Her family forms the foundation of support I need to thrive in my work. She is also an avid volunteer, both personally and in her political role.

Gabriel is Genevieve’s nephew, who has stepped in as Genevieve’s proxy rider. Gabriel is a full-time student who has found solace and joy in cycling for a few years now. While he’s been hitting the road regularly, it’s been without a real goal – until now. He’s thrilled to finally have the opportunity to channel my fitness into something meaningful. What makes this ride even more special for me is that I’ll be riding in place of my aunt, Geneviève Lajoie. Her spirit and encouragement will fuel every pedal stroke I take (I have a feeling I’ll be needing it).

Why We're Cycling for TEMBO

Genevieve strongly believes leadership must extend beyond the boundaries of a single Municipality, province or country. By challenging our worldviews we can surpass our understanding of our microcosms and better serve the needs of our people. She is determined to represent Casselman in this ride as the kind, progressive and empathic community it is.

For Gabriel, it isn’t just about the ride; it’s about the journey towards making a difference.
