GivingTuesday is Back on November 28th!

GivingTuesday is a global day of giving, a time when Canadians, charities, and businesses come together to celebrate generosity and giving.

Celebrate Giving Tuesday this year with TEMBO as we launch our annual campaign, Give Her a Chance.

This year, help us to raise $20,000 in support of girls’ education and to ensure that girls have a chance to start secondary school in January 2024.

Mark your calendars for November 28 and give a gift that supports the dreams of girls  in Longido.

A $25 gift provides a girl with a healthy sanitation kit.

A $55 gift provides a girl with textbooks and school supplies.

A $135 gift provides a girl with a bundle of bedding and a trunk.

A $375 gift sends a girl to school for a year with a trunk, books, bedding and a healthy sanitation kit.

What is GivingTuesday?

GivingTuesday is a global movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year immediately after Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  The “opening day of the giving season,” it’s a time when charities, companies and individuals join together and rally for their favourite causes. In the same way that retailers take part in Black Friday, the giving community comes together for GivingTuesday.

GivingTuesday harnesses the potential of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities; it provides a platform for them to encourage the donation of time, resources and talents to address local challenges. It also brings together the collective power of a unique blend of partners – nonprofits, civic organizations, businesses and corporations, as well as families and individuals – to encourage and amplify small acts of kindness. Across Canada and around the world, GivingTuesday unites communities by sharing our capacity to care for and empower one another.

“I am so excited to visit Longido after 10 years.  I know so much has changed,”

“It will be great to see the Learning Centre and the TEMBO Girls’ Hostel while visiting with staff. I’m especially looking forward to meeting the women in the tailoring program.” – Melissa Clark, President of TEMBO
